Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Mumbai Police Detain Two More Suspects in Sonipat
Mumbai Police have detained two more suspects, Sameer and Jatin, in Sonipat in the Tiger Shroff car firing case. Investigators are examining the alleged weapons supply network, railway transportation route and logistical support provided to the shooters.
The suspects will be produced before a court to obtain transit remand before being brought to Mumbai for further investigation. With their detention, the total number of accused in the case has reached 10.
The first arrests were made within approximately 15 hours of the firing incident, according to Mumbai Police. Three suspects travelling on a motorcycle were arrested in connection with the case. As the investigation progressed, police identified the alleged involvement of five additional suspects, including three men and two women. All five were subsequently arrested. The detention of two more suspects in Sonipat has now expanded the scope of the investigation.
According to police, two of the arrested male accused had travelled to Amritsar in Punjab to procure weapons. The firearms were then transported to Mumbai by rail. Investigators allege that two women acted as couriers in the operation, carrying the weapons to Mumbai and handing them over to the shooters. Police claim that these were the same weapons used in the firing incident on October 18.
A police officer said the two male accused were aged 21 and 19. One was not regularly employed, while the other worked at a bakery. Of the two women, one undertook small jobs, while the other worked in a company in a role related to wiring. According to police, the two women were in contact with each other and became connected to the alleged network through this association.
The investigation has also revealed the alleged involvement of another accused who provided logistical support to the shooters. Police said he stayed in Mumbai with all three shooters and provided them with the assistance they needed. Investigators maintain that the weapons supplied through the alleged network were used in the October 18 firing incident.
The names and details of several accused have also emerged during the investigation. Kunal, aged 21, is a resident of Sonipat. Sumit, aged 19, reportedly worked at a clothing store. Radha Verma is 29 years old. Babita Rao, aged 24, is a resident of Azamgarh, has completed Class 12 and reportedly worked as a wire fitter. Ankit Rajesh Khatak, aged 18, has also completed Class 12 and is accused by police of conducting reconnaissance ahead of the incident.
With the total number of accused reaching 10, the investigation is focusing on the alleged supply and transportation of weapons, the roles of the couriers and the logistical assistance provided to the shooters. The two suspects detained in Sonipat are expected to be brought to Mumbai after the police obtain transit remand, allowing investigators to pursue further leads in the case.
